Woops! Franchise Helps to Make a Perfect Wedding
ABC News highlights the premier macaron franchise’s ability to make weddings more magical
New York Magazine’s annual New York Weddings Event is a tremendously influential gathering of brands and vendors who will set the trends in weddings across the nation in the coming months and years. Every year, brides-to-be visit the event to survey the latest in wedding gowns, photography, cuisine and of course, cakes, sweets and treats.
This year, ABC News visited the event, and reporter Charli James and Lindsay Peoples, fashion editor for New York Magazine, were immediately wowed by the beautifully custom-designed Woops! Macaron Wedding Cart, which our franchisees are using to cater weddings across the country.
“Every bride and groom wants their wedding to be unique and special, and macarons provide them with a lot of flexibility,” says Tal Avivi, co-founder of Woops! “We can personalize the macarons in a lot of different ways, and play around with colors and flavors, until we have something that suits the unique feel of the wedding.”
One of the biggest trends in weddings is an alternative to the traditional wedding cake. While beautiful, wedding cakes are also expensive, limited in flavors and colors, and you can never be sure that there will be enough to go around. The macaron pyramid, on the other hand, is colorful and diverse, with up to 20 flavors to choose from, and of course, it is a treat that not only dazzles but encourages attendees to share.
“When we bring out the macaron pyramid, it becomes a magnet for people,” Tal says in the segment. “It becomes the center of conversation for the event. It’s not like a wedding cake, where everyone gets the same slice. The macaron pyramid brings people together, friends share with each other, tasting this flavor and tasting that flavor. It brings out a new energy to the party.”
The segment concludes with Charli and Lindsay tasting the Valentine’s Day-inspired Love Rocks macaron, which features a sparkly rainbow exterior and has a white chocolate ganache and the surprise explosion of Pop Rocks inside.
“Oh my gosh, this has glitter on it, which is amazing!” Charlie exclaims. “It’s like Pop Rocks exploding in your mouth. It’s beautiful. One more bite!”
