What is the difference between a kiosk and a bakeshop?
The macaron kiosk and the in-line bakeshop are our two franchise options.
The bakeshop is a store with a footprint of 400 to 1,200 square feet that serves our complete line of more than 20 flavors of macarons, all 30+ of our international pastries, plus our branded coffee and grab-and-go sandwiches. This investment is significantly higher than for the kiosk and requires more extensive training to ensure that our franchisees get the tools to run a successful bakeshop franchise.
Our macaron kiosk franchises are designed to win over the millions of customers who visit malls and other high-traffic venues across America. Our innovative and beautiful kiosks come packed with practical features, such as refrigeration and a self-contained sink, so that you can serve, store and manage your inventory with ease. Woops! has developed relationships with the largest mall companies in America, who are chomping at the bit for Woops! to enter their marketplace. Investment for a kiosk is significantly lower than that for the bakeshop franchise. It requires fewer employees and is easy to manage.

Visitors can see macaron pyramids, colorful boxes, and learn the ways boxes and even macarons can be customized for any occasion. Do I need to know how to bake French macarons and other international treats?
The majority of the Woops! executive team not only have significant experience in growing franchise systems, but they have been franchisees. They worked to devise a business model that requires no baking experience — only the drive to follow our proven systems, manage the business and take care of your customers.
Woops! made a significant investment to open our artisanal bakery in New York City, which hand-produces classic French macarons in more than 20 flavors, as well 30 other international desserts such as Jewish rugelach, French almond croissants and Argentinian alfajor pastries. It is overseen by Executive Chef Arbel Snir, whose distinguished international career has given her an unrelenting drive for the highest quality as well as a wide range of ideas when it comes to introducing new ideas to the growing Woops! product line.
Do I have to bake my own goods?
Only the Woops! bakeshop model owners will do a moderate amount of baking, which they will learn during intensive training at a Woops! bakeshop location. Woops! operates an artisanal bakery in New York City that hand-produces or specially procures all of our products. They then are flash-frozen and shipped swiftly to our franchisees. This model allows our in-line bakeshop franchisees to concentrate on managing the business and taking care of their customers.
How large a space do I need for an in-line bakeshop?
A Woops! in-line bakeshop has a small footprint — 400 square feet to 1,200 square feet. This makes securing the perfect location for your Woops! franchise easier, and it makes for a store that is a smaller initial investment with less operational overhead, and also demonstrates Woops!’ commitment to a simple business model for franchise owners coupled with an intimate experience for customers.
Do you help negotiate the leases for mall kiosks?
Yes. We have relationships with five of the biggest mall chains in America, and they are very pleased with the performance they have seen from Woops! kiosk franchises.
How many employees do I need?
For a Woops! macaron kiosk franchise, you will only need one employee per shift. We highly recommend that you run the kiosk as the owner, as this will keep your costs low, boost your ROI and enable you to spread the joy of our macarons to your community.
For an in-line bakeshop, we recommend that you employ a staff of two to four people, whom you will extensively train to maintain the quality of our products, as well as to ensure that your customers have positive experiences.
Do you offer training and support?
Woops! has developed an intensive training platform that includes how to manage every aspect of your business, including the most important part: correctly preparing and serving the Woops! products to your customers. We also train you on how to manage your inventory, operate your point of sale system and grow your non-retail business by including services such as catering, pop-ups and business-to-business events. In addition, we provide continual reviews to help you meet financial and performance goals, plus ongoing coaching that includes a step-by-step non-retail sales program help you market your business to your community. Franchise owners also benefit from outstanding marketing support, a weekly e-newsletter, calls and more.
Can I do event sales?
Yes! We encourage our in-line bakeshop owners and our macaron kiosk owners to do event and non-retail sales such as business-to-business catering, pop-ups and more, as this is a potentially high-profit sales area that is critical for success. For example, a Woops! macaron wedding pyramid sells for $450. We also offer a proprietary wedding cart, which our franchisees receive as part of their initial investment, to serve our beautiful desserts in style. We also sell macaron branding equipment at a discounted rate, so our franchisees can customize our macarons to suit a customer’s occasion.
