Woops! macaron franchise participates in New York City event to raise money for nonprofit City Harvest
Woops! bakery franchise helped New Yorkers and tourists celebrate the sixth annual Macaron Day on March 20. The event also raises money and awareness for New York City nonprofit City Harvest, the world’s first food rescue organization, which has been dedicated to feeding hungry New Yorkers for more than 30 years.
Macaron Day was started in 2010 by internationally known pastry chef and cookbook author François Payard, owner of three well-known New York bakeries and bistros. Macaron Day NYC is inspired by and coincides annually with Jour du Macaron in Paris, now in its 11th year, founded by La Maison Pierre Hermé Paris in association with Relais Desserts.
The annual event is a great way to discover macarons across New York City, as bakeries join forces to promote macarons for a cause. The official Macaron Day NYC website also featured a map to help participants plan their route among the many bakeries, including Woops!. Woops! gave out free macarons and promoted the event on its social media. Macaron Day was also a perfect way for New Yorkers to usher in spring, as March 20 was the first day of the new season.
Woops! bakery franchise was mentioned by online news outlets and blogs such as the Village Voice, Gothamist, New York Daily News and AM New York as part of their Macaron Day coverage. Woops! bakery franchise also garnered social media mentions.
Catering business offers significant potential
Want to help people celebrate with macarons every day? Woops! is uniquely poised to capture a sizable share of the special events business. Forty-three percent of caterers surveyed by the International Caterers Association said their biggest area of growth in 2015 was in corporate sales, and weddings were a close second at 36 percent. Higher corporate sales accompany a growing economy, and nine out of 10 of those caterers said they expect even better business in 2016.
Woops! is seeking savvy investors and entrepreneurs who are passionate about bringing European-style pastries, sandwiches and coffee to their communities. With an investment starting at $52,000 for a macaron kiosk and $168,500 for an in-line bakeshop, Woops! offers entrepreneurs a low initial investment with potential for a high return: the brand’s in-line bakeshops generated average sales of $62,000 a month in 2014, and its average kiosk generated $252,000 in sales in the same year.
